Luxury bathroom remodel

Luxury Bathroom Remodel, St. Peters, Missouri

White bathroom remodelOutdated wood cabinets, an awkward corner soaking tub under a window, and clutter finally drove a St. Peter’s family to reimagine what their bathroom could be.

They wanted a space that was tranquil, beautiful and had lots of storage for toiletries, hair dryers, and other bathroom essentials.

A bathroom remodeling contractor with the right skills for the job

Matt Mierek, the owner of Aptitude Construction, visited the property to discuss the couple’s bathroom ideas. He quickly realized they’d need to reconfigure the existing layout to achieve their dreams.

To improve the room’s flow and visually expand the space, Matt recommended aligning the bathtub and shower along one wall. The toilet and window would also need to be relocated.

Luckily, with a staff that includes experienced carpenters and plumbers, Aptitude Construction was a perfect fit for the job.

Gleaming shower and bath tub

To keep the space feeling light and airy, Aptitude Construction installed custom glass shower walls.  For functionality, they extended the deck from the adjoining bath tub into the shower to provide a handy shower seat.

Instead of a jetted tub, the owners picked a micro-bubble bath tub. These luxury tubs give bathers a soothing massage that can improve blood flow. The water pressure is gentle enough for people with sensitive skin or conditions such as eczema.

In the new layout, the window is smaller than the original, but it provides bathers with privacy while still allowing ample daylight.

The homeowner’s love their large vanity

The new vanity includes two sinks, a makeup area with a bench, and two towers that provide ample storage space. A large mirror and two decorative sconces make the area both functional and beautiful.

Marble bathroom tiles and neutral colors

Aptitude Construction always pays special attention to the quality of the tile work because it makes such a difference to the final look and feel of the project.

“The tile on the floor is Italian Carrara marble inlaid with a border of actual oyster shells,” said Matt. “The border runs above the tub and through the shower.”

The homeowner chose a neutral and soothing color palate based on the natural shades of gray and white found in the tiles.

“Keeping all of the tones of the bathroom more consistent and bringing color in with borders, pictures and accessories is becoming a more and more popular design style,” said Matt.
